Text the customer now
Send this the moment you find it, before the work goes ahead. Their written reply is your
record that they knew and agreed.
Worth knowing before you rely on a text. Pennsylvania’s Home Improvement Consumer
Protection Act (73 P.S. §517.7) requires a change to a home improvement contract to be in
writing and signed by both parties. A texted approval is real evidence and far better
than a verbal go-ahead, but it is not clearly the same thing as a signed change order. Send the
text so the job is not held up, then get this PDF signed. Not legal advice.
